I live in Overland Park, Kansas, and am a state-certified teacher, having taught for over six years at every level from elementary school to college. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in social sciences, as well as a master's degree in education from the same institution. I was an instructor at the University of Missouri, where I taught courses in health sciences as well as learning strategies. I also worked at MU as academic advisor, counseling students on picking out their majors, developing plans of study, and pursuing internships related to their career paths. I have also worked as a tutor, and have an online tutoring certification. I am able to tutor a wide variety of subjects, including reading and writing, mechanics and grammar, vocabulary, geography, American history, social studies, essay editing, biology, and government. I can also help students prepare for standardized tests like the GED, ISEE, PSAT, and ACT. I'm skilled not only at tutoring specific subjects, but also at helping a student develop a plan of action, decide on a college, and construct a college admission essay.When I'm not working, I like to spend time with my two cats, work out, take photographs, and paint pottery.
