Experience
I graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in History and a minor in Political Science. Directly after graduating, I worked for the Portland Trail Blazers, enjoying life on the Pacific Coast. Then I enrolled at Lewis and Clark College to study Elementary Education. When I graduated, I obtained a primary school teaching position that I really enjoyed. During the three years that I spent teaching that school, I focused on teaching my pupils to think in a critical manner. I've tutored in many subject areas but the topic I love most is United States History. I enjoy discussing the Westward expansion and other historical events and topics. I always push beyond mere facts by raising the question of why things happened. I want students to think in an analytical manner so they can approach a topic from varied viewpoints. In addition to tutoring students in the area of history, I also assist with primary school math, writing, and English. When I'm not tutoring, my interests include music, travel, reading, writing poetry, and sports.
