My education includes a degree from the University of Kansas, emphasizing Environmental Studies and Biology. I am naturally curious about the wonders of the physical world around us, but I also have other interests including language, philosophy, and the arts and humanities. I love tutoring for several reasons. One would be that I am allowed to use my knowledge and experience to assist others to become confident about their subject material. I really love tutoring French. I studied at a French institution and minored in the language at the U of K. Being curious and inquisitive is the main element in education. While tutoring, I inquire constantly of my students the meaning behind their studies and personal interests. I want them to come to conclusions themselves, while I serve as a guide and mentor. I teach students to become resourceful and I share my wisdom in any way I can to help them become proficient and focused on their studies. I weave science, art, mathematics, and other subjects together to help students connect the dots between concept and practice in real life. I look for the creativity and diversity in each student to help them develop. I like to work in groups as well as individually with students.
