Experience
I earned a Liberal Arts and Science Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Kansas. My emphasis was on science. I will be returning to college to work toward a Bachelor of Science degree, this time focusing on Molecular Bioscience. While in college, I worked in the undergraduate Biology Department as a student teacher. Several other teachers and I taught the entirety of the human anatomy cadaver lab. Additionally, I was on hand during office hours to assist students. I also wrote quiz and test questions, lectured to several hundred students, and graded tests. Outside my work as a student teacher, I also worked as a private tutor for basic biology, human anatomy, and physiology. My specialty and favorite is anatomy. I love learning and teaching about how the human body works. I feel it's important for people to have a basic understanding of how their bodies are built, and I am proud to help students build this knowledge. My teaching methods are very diverse and hands-on. I believe any subject can be made exciting, and an interactive, entertaining presentation is what I try to give each student. During tutoring sessions we use many vehicles to convey and understand information, from mnemonics for memorization to building with clay, and everything in between.In my personal life, I have a deep connection to many community service groups. I also love animals, and I work as a dog walker in my free time. I enjoy reading, and I am currently working through texts on histology and embryology.
