Education

In December 2009, I graduated with a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Art. My graduating overall GPA was 2.78 with a total of 136 total credit hours. However, with the exception of the two Methods/Statistics classes, I earned at least a B in almost all of my psychology classes. Even though I never got past the first algebra class and I didn't qualify for AP classes, I was a B average in high school.

Experience

When I was a YouthFriends volunteer from 2011-2012 through Shawnee Mission School District, one of my last assignments was helping a class of first graders with their reading. Each kid would take individual turns grabbing his or her favorite book and reading a portion of it to me. I corrected their pronunciations, bumps, etc. as they went along. Aside from my Psychology courses, I took Introduction to Philosophy in 2008, I really enjoyed that and earned an A in it. I also really enjoyed the Introduction to Literature class that I took in 2005, I earned a B in that. Since elementary school, I have enjoyed taking the significance of literary works apart and trying to analyze them. Professionally, I have been working as an independent contractor ghostwriter on a variety of subjects for clients through the SEO (search engine optimization) firm, textbroker.com. I have just started to establish myself with WriterBay.com, which helps college students with their class papers. What appeals to me the most about being a tutor is that I love to help others succeed and to pass on what I know.

Hobbies

For fun, I like to read (mostly novels and spiritual books but occasionally, a certain subject, such as something related to the effects of drugs or the origins of fairy tales catches my interest), write, and on occasion, draw or paint. I also like to explore the various spiritualities and religions. I do have a best friend with moderate-level ADHD and have personally been acquainted with a few people who have autism and Asperger's syndrome. I also trek Temple Grandin's work on autism so I'm very understanding of the above two disabilities.
