Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Art History at Ohio State University and eventually returned to the school to earn my master's degree in the field of Elementary Education. Following graduation, I went on to teach kindergarten and early childhood classrooms in Minnesota and now here in Kansas. While I worked, I earned another master's degree at Emporia State University in early childhood general and special education. My passion as a teacher is working with extremely young students and helping to build the foundation that will last throughout their education. I think that teachers are one of the great influences on anyone's life from a young age, and I am honored to be able to be in that position where I can share my own knowledge and experience with students. Much of my teaching experience has been focused on beginning English, like Reading, Writing, and Phonics, but I am also comfortable tutoring Math subjects from Arithmetic up through Algebra. I also have experience helping older students as they prepare to take standardized tests like the ACT and GRE. In my free time, I love spending time with my children reading, baking, running, and playing board games.
